texts - interview with scooter
H.P: Hello everybody! This is H.P.
Ferris: This is Ferris.
Rick: And this is Rick.
Guys: And we are Scooter! And we are very glad to be here.
H.P: We have just arrived at hotel, after that we had a soundcheck, it works OK. And I think it will be nice show tonight. Now we are really in good mood to play tonight, and we'll have a dinner in evening.
Ferris: No problems at all.
Rick: Excellent.
H.P: Chicken.
Do you like chicken?
H.P: Yeah, and fish!
Ferris: All kinds of fish.
Do you think your group will have to improve, or you'll find something better to do?
H.P: Oh, it's really nice, because when we were in Baltic last time, it was just in Estonia, it was some kind of a club. And one year later we see ourselves in big concert halls. That's really cool, we didn't expect...
Ferris: That's really, because of the people, it's really great to have such excellent fans! We've had so many good experiences in last 2 days, and it was glad good fans being here. And it's really great to visit different european countries, to find friends, to find people who love the music. I think it's the most important thing.
This new single 'Break It Up', does it mean that Scooter is getting softer day by day, no more happy rave, nothing like that?
H.P: Well, it happened just before Christmas, we decided to release a ballad. Now we have already brought out our very new single. It will be released in April. It's very hard, so you don't have to feel that we are getting slower.
Ferris: It's just one track, and people can check this one out, in the concert tonight and I hope that they will like it.
Are you going to play this new single?
H.P: Yeah.
How is it called?
H.P: 'Fire'. It's the opener - the first track.
'Hyper Hyper' - is it your first single?
Rick: It's the first one which got a success. We released one song before 'Hyper Hyper'. It was a song, which created the group's name - Scooter.
Was it called Scooter, like a group?
Rick: No, but the melody in this track rounded like a bit foreground. We just thought about the project name for this tune.
Ferris: In Germany we call 'scooter' those pump-cars, so that's because of it.
What relationship have you established with those DJ-ays you're mentioning in song?
H.P: Well, we met some of them but not all. Most of time we just saying 'Hello' and 'How are you?'. Most of them are really nice people, no problems at all.
Ferris: For example Marusha. We met her several times, she's really nice. Well, in the beginning they were a little bit confused that we have named all of them. But it became really successful, all the names, they got used to that.
H.P: It was positive, just like greetings. Big shout just to greet all those DJ-ays.
Do you have some special requirements for treatment, something like special clothes design, food, cars, expensive cars? Do you like expensive cars?
H.P: Yeah, I like, but not expensive. It has to be old. I like classic cars, especially british cars. Mini Cooper, Jaguar, old ones.
Do you have one of them?
H.P: Yeah, two Jags and two Minies.
Ferris: For me life has changed a little bit, but I think we haven't personally changed too much. Now I like special type of clothes, for me it's DK&Y.
H.P: But it is just fun. The most important thing is to make music and to be satisfied with your own work abd to live for music.
Ferris: People must decide they like us or they don't, not because of special clothes.
How is the ideal Scooter girl-fan look like?
H.P: Oh, she has to be of good sense of humour, and nice person. It doesn't matter how she looks like, if she's pretty or not.
Ferris: We meet so many nice people, that's really funny, good situations when we get in touch with them, we can talk and have great fun. And it doesn't really matter if she has long blond hair or not.
What do you expect from lithuanian audience?
H.P: People are very open for all kinds of new things, it's wonderful!
You are not afraid of being whistled away?
H.P: No, I don't think so.
Ferris: We will see, tonight.
How long does it take you to make a record like 'Move Your Ass!'?
H.P: With 'Move Your Ass!' it was 3 or 4 weeks. Sometimes it's faster like one week, it depends on the ideas you have in your mind.
Ferris: If you start a production of new album you have to get into it again. And you can't produce an album and have a tour. You can't do two jobs at once.
Sex? Does it get any better, when you're a star?
H.P: Not really. It has been always very good.
Ferris: You see, H.P got a girlfriend!
H.P: Yeah, but Ferris is still free, so all girls, come to Feris.
Ferris: Always the same!!! But I don't think that quality of sex has changed. It's still the same.
What can you say to young people, who prefer reading books, than listening to Scooter?
H.P: Keep reading books!
Ferris: Not everyone can go to the clubs. I think that everyone has got personal things he likes. Everyone should be different.
H.P: Rick, what about you? Oh, Rick has never seen a book. I think you should do both: reading books and listening to Scooter records. And you'll have a good mixture.
That's really the end!
H.P: Yeah, hope to see you tonight at the concert and big shout to all our fans here. We are really proud to have much friends here, in Vilnius.
Ferris: I think we'll have a great party.
H.P: Keep the spirit alive. Yeah!
Guys: Bye-bye! See ya!
