texts - interview with scooter Why Ferris has left Scooter? H.P: For several reasons. At first, the new plans have appeared in his head, and secondly, Ferris still lives in Hannover, whereas all of us in Hamburg, well and, naturally, arise problems in joint work. How in group has appeared Axel Coon? H.P: Axel the whole year works with us, and now he simply has taken a place of Ferris. For us it is much better, than to learn the outside person of vital philosophy of Scooter. Of what your philosophy consists? H.P: The sense of life for us is music and our group, Scooter lives in our hearts. Your first 4 albums are a success. How do you think, why? H.P: We work just so, as well as other techno-groups, for want of it our music differs from anyone other. On stage Scooter is incredible, and in life you same obstinate, as well as on the stage? H.P: Certainly, no, in life it would be much more complicated. We simply like to be spread completely before our audience, and so we quite peaceful guys. Have you any traditions before performance? H.P: In our group I'm most nervous, therefore before exit on the stage it's necessary for me some minutes to be alone and to smoke. But when I go to the spectators, all disturbance at once passes, and it would be desirable to make utmost, that come on a concert have taken pleasure. And after a concert you, probably, make cool parties? H.P: Yeah, I shall not deny. We have a lot of CD, which we usually loudly included behind the stage, it is a good method to give exit of our energy. You frequently quarrel among themselves? H.P: Almost each day! (Laughs). If we had difficult rehearsal or large concert, quarrel can begin because of any trifle. But the quarrel passes very fast, as well as begins. Your new song is named 'How Much Is The Fish?' What means this title? H.P: Nothing! We already almost have completed the record of album, when in our heads came an idea , that we haven't any ridiculous song. In Germany love to speak about what at us expensive gas, and forget about all around. It awfully irritates us. Why nobody asks, how much is the fish? So the song was received. Whence do you take ideas for the songs? H.P: Usually, new ideas occur already during parties behind the stage after a concert, when we in good mood. Then the good things are received from these ideas, which we rehearse in studio. 'How Much Is The Fish?' was appeared in such way. It was during a concert in Russia. After performance we as usually held a party, during which tune of this songs was born. All our best hits appeared on light just during such parties. What plans for the future, you accidentally are not going to make film, how it did Spice Girls? H.P: Never! Scooter takes a high position in the world of music, and we do not have necessity to sell something still. Will Scooter exist after 10 years? H.P: Scooter, maybe, what will be with us? Why you have named group Scooter? H.P: Actually in the beginning it there was simply joke, but, when the song 'Hyper Hyper' has won success, we have decided to keep a title. When will be next album? H.P: Now we work above a new album, which will leave in July. It is almost ready, we need in a pair of songs for full album. In childhood you already knew that you will be the musicians or were any other dreams? H.P: We always thought about music and even sometimes played together different music before our first song. How do you think, why German people so well play techno-music? May be, because you well understand engineering? H.P: Techno is played in Germany since the end of 70's. This is the answer to your question. |
